There is a myriad of smart, free & low cost marketing tools available to make your working day easier. Below are some of my favourites across a number of categories from website analysis to social media management and online surveys. Some may be new to you, others you will already know. Marketing Grader A free online tool that assesses your website in terms of marketing activities such as blogs, landing pages and social media.
Google Alerts There still isn’t a better alternative than Google Alerts for reviewing mentions of your brand name, competitor or sector names by entering keywords.
Hootsuite Easy-to-use, free social media management tool for scheduling, posting and reviewing updates to multiple channels. It enables posting to all the main social networks including twitter, linkedin, facebook and Google+ company pages, as well as monitoring mentions, conversations and messages.
Google Mobile Friendly Test You can confirm how mobile-friendly your site is by using the Google mobile friendly test. Simply enter your site’s url and a list is generated of any problem areas that need attention. The tool provides suggestions for improvements and potential solutions that may be worked through with your developer.
Google PageSpeed Insights  The speed of your website can be checked using the Google PageSpeed Insights test. Page speed scores register from 1 to 100, with 85+ indicating a page that is working well. Again, the tool provides recommendations for improvements to be worked through with your web developer.
 Canva Canva helps even the most graphically-challenged create everything from social-media images to presentations, for free. You can use its templates, store everything online and even access stock images to include in your work.
Personapp Customer personas help create targeted marketing campaigns and a tool called Personapp can help you create these customer personas. The tool helps you visualize your target customer by inputting their gender, likes, behaviours and goals in a simple-to-read layout.
Mailchimp Email marketing made simple with an easy-to-use collection of newsletter templates, with the ability to customise your own design.  Detailed reports on key metrics help you improve over time. MailChimp is ideal for small businesses because of the free option it offers to new users. Anything up to 2,000 subscribers and 12,000 emails per month is free of charge.
SurveyMonkey SurveyMonkey provides free, customisable surveys, as well as a suite of paid back-end programs that include data analysis, sample selection, bias elimination, and data representation tools.
